At Highfield we work to create motivated, competent, and engaged learners who can explore the world around them, solve problems and most of all communicate with confidence. Communication is at the heart of our whole curriculum, which is pupil centred, individualised and immersive.
At Highfield our intent of teaching of the health curriculum is to give pupils the tools and understanding required to make a positive impact in their own physical health and well-being. We want all pupils to experience a wide variety of sports and physical skills which will enhance life-long fitness and life choices.
Personal Development Overview
At Highfield we work to create independent learners who can confidently engage in everyday situations through travel, shopping, cooking and self-care, to ensure health and wellbeing in a safe and resilient manner. Independence means self-confidence, self-esteem, self-advocacy and success. This is what we strive for and aspire to, for every individual.
At Highfield we work to develop student’s Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) which are generic skills that are essential to life, learning and work. PLTS have
a significant impact on a student’s ability to make a confident contribution, both within and outside of their working environment.
That’s great and all, and we commend you for pushing through with it. Unfortunately we no longer offer support for IE; it hasn’t received a major update since 2015 and Microsoft are dropping support for it later in the year.
If you’re using Windows 10 and want to stick with a built in browser, please consider switching to Edge. Or, if you really want to enjoy the internet properly we strongly recommend downloading Google Chrome here.
