Chair

Dr. Annette. K. Netherwood

Hi! I am a retired mum of two, and grandma of two! I have a wide experience base of special needs education which I hope to use in my position as chair. I have been; a teacher and an Assistant Head in a Special school, I have lectured at Huddersfield University training teachers of the future the importance of special education, I have co written 3 books to help support new teachers navigate special needs education, and now find myself in the privileged position of Chair at Highfield School.

I volunteer as a crew member on a community canal boat, I love walking and exploring new places in the UK, and enjoy arts and crafts having just started to experiment with stained glass. I endeavour to keep up to date with educational research and practice, and look forward to supporting staff, students and parents at Highfield School.
