Key Stage 4 Curriculum

In Key Stage 4 we are encouraging our students to become independent learners and this is achieved by students accessing sessions around school with specialist teaching. All students have a form tutor who oversees their progress and this is monitored within Evidence for Learning.

Our Key Stage 4 students choose an option in year 10 from Creative media, ICT, Art, Music, Horticulture, Animal Care, Science, Motor vehicles, Construction, Cooking and Sports and Leisure. The option is studied for 2 years and accreditation is offered where appropriate.

All students study Functional Skills English and Maths and accreditation is undertaken when the teacher feels they are fully prepared. Please see our accreditation page.

All areas of the curriculum are designed to develop communication, independence, social skills and problem solving in preparation for students moving on to further education or training at 16. Please see our further education page.
